Budget Health Insurance
The main goal for most individuals and families is finding a health insurance policy that fits within their budget. A lot of the time it might seem impossible to do, but there are plans out there that are affordable. If you are considered a low-income household, you can find state health programs like Medicaid and Healthy Kids. Not everyone qualifies for these programs; you must meet income requirements, health requirements and more, so make sure to check and try to apply.
Affordable Health Insurance Plans
Group health plans may also be a good idea if you are an employer or employee. As an employer, you can offer your employees an affordable health plan without breaking your company's bank; and as an employee you will have the coverage you need as an individual or family without breaking your pockets. Such group health plans include HMO, PPO and POS. With the HMO, or Health Maintenance Organization, you will receive a low flat-rate premium that gives you the option of choosing any of their in-network physicians. You are only able to use one of theirs and the one you choose will be your Primary Care Physician, meaning he or she will be the one to take care of all of your medical needs. You are also required to make low co-payments.
The PPO option, or Preferred Physician Organization, is similar to the HMO plan, but it costs a bit more and you have the flexibility of choosing an in-network or out-of-network physician. By using an out-of-network physician, your co-payments will be higher. The POS, Point-of-Service, plan is a combo of the HMO and PPO - you choose how you want the health plan to function.
